Car insurance comes with many coverages, and it is not easy to decide which from these choices are the best coverage to take. While the coverage needed varies depending on the accident, foretelling the future is futile. Choosing for the right one is indeed confusing. To help you out with this problem, below are the four important auto insurance coverages that you need to secure: Liability and Property Damage Coverage
Do not drive without the minimum liability and property damage coverage of your state. You are more likely to lose your driver’s license and pay fines if you go without it. Finding yourself in an accident without this coverage will put you in significant financial trouble. You will be paying tons of penalties plus the bills from the damages you have done. You may also be sued for the damages if you do not have this type of coverage. Liability and property damage coverage protects the other drivers from the damages you have caused them. Liability covers bodily injuries by paying the other driver’s medical expenses, suffering, and pain. Property coverage, on the other hand, covers other people’s property such as their car. It also covers damages to city properties like traffic sign or guardrails. Collision Coverage This type of coverage will pay for your vehicle’s damages after colliding to another vehicle or anything that may damage your vehicle after an unfortunate collision. Collision coverage pays out less of your deductibles. Comprehensive Coverage This coverage will pay for any damages that are not caused by a collision. These damages include glass damage, deer, theft, fire, vandalism, storm, etcetera. A deductible often applies as well. Roadside Assistance Almost every driver will experience a roadside emergency where their vehicle is needed to be towed. If you have not experienced it yet, you need to know that towing is expensive if you do not have roadside assistance. You will also need the service of a towing company in other unfortunate events such as changing a flat tire, keys locked in the car, jump start, and gas delivery. Although not all insurance companies have roadside assistance, you can always get one through membership in a group that offers road assistance. Don’t get yourself confused and avoid buying coverages that may cost you more money that protect you financially. Remember these important coverages in mind the next time you buy auto insurance. Thanks for helping me learn more about car insurance coverage! My brother is about to get a car next month and I wanted to help him learn more about insurance since he'll be opting out on it for sure. I had no idea that there's a coverage that can pay for any damages aside from a collision. I should share and discuss this with him so he can get insurance before getting the car.
