When you decide to replace the kitchen sink, there are some factors to consider, such as the size, the style, but most importantly, the material. Of course, you would want a long-lasting product to avoid having to replace them immediately in the future.
Stainless Steel Sink
Most households have this type of sink because of its affordability and sleek design. You can easily wipe off any stain or dirt while also being easy to maintain. However, there are different series numbers for each product, which can tell if the sink is magnetic or not and the manufacturing date. Make sure you choose 300 series sinks because it prevents corrosion and high-temperature damage.

Enamel Sink

Before you decide on selecting enamel as the sink’s material, remember that you need to have reinforced countertops to support it. While enamel is prone to cracks and chipping off, there are many DIY kits you can use to repair them. Overall, enamel sinks bring a contemporary and sleek design while also adding to the value of your home.

Copper Sink
In general, copper has antimicrobial properties; that’s why many homeowners choose sinks of this type. It can help avoid bacterial contamination because scientists believe that copper has features used to puncture holes through the cell walls of the bacteria. Aside from having an elegant look, copper sinks also instantly grab anyone’s attention. If you want a stylish finish for your kitchen, then choose copper instead. However, these products may become pricey, depending on the size, style, and brand.

Fireclay Sink
Fireclay comes from white clay combined with glaze. Manufacturers then put the material in extremely high temperatures for a sink that’s elegant and similar to traditional models. Fireclay usually comes in white for a clean finish, but there are also black variations. If you want a customized, hand-crafted piece, then the fireclay type is for you. However, these sinks need professional installation and are very expensive.

Selecting the right kind of sink avoids problems like water interruptions or floods inside the house. Make sure you protect your home by getting flood insurance if ever you do encounter water or flood-related problems in the future.
